I’m Njinjima Njeru with HIVE CLEAN CARE Carpet and rug cleaning here at the Nanyuki Equator behind the curio shop and I have to say that I got disappointed lot after our good customer came very mad that her tenant at her guest house took the carpet for a wash to a carwash. Believe it or not, the costly and good carpet was ruined and we had nothing much to do for correction but just clean it. Pressure washing combined with carwash soap often dosed with a degreaser ruins rugs and carpets instantly. The water pressure will ruin the color, texture, and entire fiber structure.
I'm sure you know soap meant for carwash is quite challenging and not a good idea on any textile. Common sense should be telling us this better.
Just trust me, never consider washing your rugs or carpets with high-pressure and tough detergents meant for hard surfaces. I mean if you don’t care anymore about your rugs or carpets, then it may be okay to try it. But if you care, and I repeat, if you care even a little, do not dedicate your precious time dropping off your rugs as a by the way while cleaning your car.
